Common Questions

Straight Answers Before You Book

New patients tend to have the same handful of questions before scheduling — about referrals, timelines, billing, and what happens if chiropractic care isn't the right fit. Here are honest answers to the ones we hear most.

Doctor talking with a patient about their questions and treatment options

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

In most cases, no referral is needed to schedule a chiropractic evaluation at Twin Cities Chiropractic Spine and Injury Center. Some insurance plans may have their own requirements, which our office can help verify.

How long is a typical treatment plan?

Treatment length varies by condition and is discussed honestly with you after your evaluation — we don't commit to a fixed timeline before understanding your specific case.

Do you treat patients after auto accidents?

Yes. We evaluate and treat auto accident injuries and coordinate directly with auto insurers and attorneys when needed. See our auto accident injury treatment page for details.

Minnesota is a no-fault state — how does that affect my chiropractic care?

Minnesota requires every auto policy to include No-Fault (PIP) coverage that pays for reasonable, necessary medical care — including chiropractic treatment — regardless of who caused the accident. Care is typically billed directly to your own No-Fault coverage first; once those benefits are exhausted, lien-based billing may be available for qualifying cases. See our insurance & payment options page for details. Wisconsin, including Hudson, is an at-fault state with a different claims process.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring a photo ID, your insurance card, and any relevant imaging or medical records related to your condition, if available.

Do you accept Medicare?

Yes, we accept Medicare and handle billing in accordance with applicable Medicare disclosure requirements. Contact our office with specific coverage questions.

Can I start treatment before my personal injury claim is settled?

Yes, lien-based billing is available for qualifying personal injury cases, allowing treatment to begin without upfront payment. See our lien-based care page for details.

Is chiropractic care safe for chronic conditions?

Chiropractic care is a conservative, non-surgical option for many musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Larsen will evaluate your specific condition and let you know honestly whether chiropractic care is appropriate.

What if chiropractic care isn't the right fit for my condition?

Dr. Larsen will tell you directly if your condition is better suited to another type of provider, and can refer you accordingly. Not every condition responds to conservative chiropractic care, and an honest evaluation is the first step either way.

Will I work with Dr. Larsen throughout my treatment?

Yes. Dr. Larsen personally manages your chiropractic treatment plan from your first visit through your last, so you always know who you're working with.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can request an appointment online through our appointment request page or call our office directly at (651) 439-2712.
